After moving to America, Gerd Kruger dreamed of building a business that fulfilled a real need and earned people’s trust. He began with Die Craft Stamping, Inc., but his journey soon led him to the drain cleaning and sewer industry. In 1984, he founded Gorlitz Sewer & Drain, Inc., which has since grown into one of the leading manufacturers of drain cleaning equipment and accessories in the United States.

In the 1980s, CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines changed how products were made worldwide. At Gorlitz, we’ve stayed ahead by using the latest technology and improving our designs and production methods. From making frames and blades to building gearboxes for our larger machines, we create high-quality parts faster than ever.
With advanced tools like two-, four-, and seven-axis machining centers, CNC spring coiling machines, and welding robots, we produce parts in seconds with incredible precision and quality. Gorlitz works with trusted distributors like Ferguson, Hajoca, and Winsupply, located across the United States, to make our products easy to access. At our central location in Santa Fe Springs, California, we have a sales showroom where all our machines are displayed.
We welcome walk-in customers and offer over-the-counter sales to everyone, including municipalities, government agencies, business owners, plumbers, and drain-cleaning professionals. We also provide in-house equipment demonstrations, training sessions, and expert technical support from our knowledgeable sales team. Gorlitz Sewer & Drain Inc. is named after a beautiful, small, and lovely city in Germany whose origin dates back to 1017. It is located approximately 200 km southeast of Berlin, borders Poland, and overlooks the Neisse River. Gorlitz maintains a population of 61,000 people and the community still thrives today. Gorlitz’s mystique remains alive and is apparent in the construction of its buildings dating back to the Gothic and Renaissance periods.
Street Cars still travel through the city’s original cobblestone roads leading into the shopping centers and city hall.
The train station with its glass ceilings and walls is still in operation and reflects the old-world charm to this day. Many historic areas such as the “Kaiserstrutz” are home to many historic galleries but were once part of an old historic fort to defend the city.
The outskirts of Gorltiz are picturesque scenes of lush green forests and farmlands with the “Landeskrone”, a 420-meter inactive volcano that has one of the oldest forts near Gorlitz and remains a special place of interest.
